Procurement questions

What is the shelf life, and is the expiry date marked?

Four years for most ChemLight models, three years for the 3 h and 8 h infrared, and two years for the 5-minute Ultra High Intensity orange. The expiry date is printed on the packaging.

Are NSN codes available?

Yes, on request. Cyalume states its range is tested in the field and approved by NATO against the NSN specification, and items can also be ordered through NSPA. Tell us which formats you need and we send the codes with the quote.

Can you supply infrared lightsticks?

Yes — 6″ in 3 h and 8 h versions and 4″ in 8 h, emitting at 830 nm. They are visible only through night-vision equipment, which is what makes them usable for covert marking and identification.

What pack sizes are there?

Same-colour packs of 10, 100 or 500 for the 6″, 100 for the 4″ and 6 for the 10″. Mixed-colour requirements are quoted line by line.

How should we specify a requirement in a tender?

Format, duration, colour and quantity per line is all we need. If your specification is written around NSN codes, send those instead and we will match them.

Do they need special storage or handling?

No. They contain no batteries and need no maintenance. Store cool and dry, and plan stock rotation around the printed expiry date.
